Summer sweat and tooth ache
Hello lovely people, It's been a while since my latest blog/diary entry. Apologies for that! We've been playing at quite a lot of festivals all over Europe and are preparing for our next European headline tour which will start on the 24th of September. Before the tour starts, we will also pay our very first visit to Russia! During this tour we will focus on the countries where we didn't play during our first part of the European tour. Countries included are: Norway, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Poland, Italy and Switzerland. All very exciting! Now comes a somewhat more personal story: The title of my blog might make you wonder if I still have all my teeth.. Well, no need to worry, none of them had to be pulled, luckily. Some of you who might follow me on Myspace and Twitter, have seen that I had to pay some visits to the dentist lately, and they were no regular check ups. About two weeks ago, I started to get really nasty shocks when drinking tea and eating ice cream. I've had that before, so I didn't really worry about that. When we left for Slovenia, my tooth started to hurt so bad, that I couldn't chew anymore. The tooth was so soar and the pain went up all the way to my nose... After our show in Slovenia, next thing that I did in the morning, was calling my dentist. She (assistant) told me that I could come that afternoon. Too bad for me that Slovenia is not exactly around the corner. She advised me to go see a dentist in Norway, since there was no time, traveling wise, to go see a dentist in Slovenia. I just had to deal with the pain. She told me all horrible variations of what could happen to me... She told me that I had an infected root canal and that I needed to undergo a cleaning real soon. When we arrived in Norway around 3 AM, I was lucky enough to get an appointment at 10 AM. The Norwegian dentist was very friendly and gentle, but he couldn't find the root canal and filled up the tooth again. A couple of days later, I went to a colleague of my dentist, since mine was on a holiday. I had been mentally preparing myself for this procedure. When I arrived, he said that the filling looked great and that I have to have it fixed by my own dentist when he would be back from vacations, and that was today. After 30 minutes of fumbling around in my mouth and some local sedation, he found the canal and cleaned it. Because of lack of time, he couldn't finish the job and I come again in September to have it finished... At least, the risk that the tooth ache comes back now, is very small. Having dental problems while being on the road is no fun. Luckily for me, the pain stopped after my first visit to the Norwegian dentist. Did anyone of you ever had to get a root canal treatment? I hope that you're not grossed out by my story and I hope that all your teeth are in good health! Love, Simone
